AOPA Concern #4: MDS (Minimum Distance Separation)

MDS calculated using modeling in attempts to minimize odour nuisance from CFO facility and on site manure storage areas.
No MDS requirements for residents affected by land application of manure (minimal setbacks only)
Currently adjacent landowners are not consulted in use of their property in MDS calculations.
Minimum Distance Separation (MDS) has steadily decreased while the size of CFOs have increased in the last few years (Oct 2006 AOPA amendments)
