President
Murray Marsh
Carstairs, AB.
The primary work that Murray has been doing regarding SERLO and the Agricultural Operation Practices Act (AOPA) is within his own community.
Murray is currently involved with an appeal to stop the expansion of a 2500 head cattle feedlot to an 18,200 head feedlot with the NRCB and AAA Cattle Co. Ltd.
Murray has personally seen the problems that arise from poor management of manure. In 1988 he witnessed the shipping of dehydrated liquid manure being shipped on barges to other European countries from Holland due to 20 years of over application of manure. This experience cemented Murray’s belief that we must continue to work together toward changes that must be made to AOPA so that we don’t repeat the same mistakes in Alberta.
Murray is dedicated to building the membership of SERLO to strengthen our voice with the Provincial government.
